Desire Cement Tile was established in 2006 by Texas born pioneer, Kirsten Carabin. She built our factory in Vietnam. We own our factory and have distribution outlets throughout the world.

We are not resellers.

Desire is the only manufacturer to understand and employ Western quality control standards and procedures to deliver cement and terrazzo tiles of a superior quality to any other tiles on the market. Featuring spectacular designs with styles from legacy historical designs to trailblazing originals, every single one of our designs is handmade. Each design can be customized - created to your exact color, pattern, shape, and material specifications.

In the past, Desire focused on manufacturing proprietary lines, sold exclusively by luxury retailers. But not anymore. We’ve expanded our company and are now selling luxury tiles factory-direct to the consumer, trade partners and distributors. Because we are the manufacturer, we sell at unprecedented pricing for the highest quality tiles. We make everything you see and touch, with an eye on quality. And, because we own the process start to finish, we deliver your tiles faster.

YES! Cement and terrazzo tile isa great choices for commercial applications, including restaurants and boutique hotels. Our cement tile meets ADA requirements for the new dynamic coefficient of friction standards, when both dry and wet. Report is available if required.

We appreciate all orders and customers, both large and small! Since we are the factory, we have no minimum order size. We do have a small upcharge for orders less than 50 SF.

We manufacture the premier cement and terrazzo tile in the world. Every tile is inspected to meet our strict standards.

At Desire Cement every tile is made by hand using a handmade template, naturally sourced, mineral pigments, Portland cement, aggregates and a hydraulic press. Because each tile is made by hand, each tile will have a subtle variation in design and color.  No two tiles will be identical. Our  process produces a beautiful, naturally rich appearance. Each tile a unique work of art!

It is recommended that all materials are examined in person or via a sample before buying material. Although best effort is made to ensure images on the website are as close as possible to the actual product, variations in shade, color or appearance is possible. Monitor settings can also play a role in the representation of a picture. Desire is not responsible for the appearance or differences of samples provided by manufacturers or local suppliers/showrooms.

YES! Although our tiles are pre-sealed at the factory, this is for protection during shipping only! Cement and terrazzo tiles need to be sealed thoroughly prior to, and after grouting, with a high-quality penetrating sealer. Desire recommends contacting a sealing expert.

Yes. During the installation process, outdoor floor tiles must be sealed properly to ensure they can resist stains and fading. A sealant will help prevent dust, dirt, grime, and moisture from permeating the tile and staining the tils. You may also want to have your tiles re-sealed once the installation, cleaning and drying processes have taken place. Ask your contractor about using a penetrating sealer with UV protection to keep direct sunlight from fading your tiles. Keep your outdoor tiles clean by regular sweeping and washing them with a non-acidic natural cleaning solution.

THE ONLY CAVEAT!  Cement and terrazzo tiles are not recommended for areas that freeze in wintertime.  Repeated freezing and thawing could cause cracking.

Shipping & Delivery

COUTURE TILE ORDERS will be delivered to our San Antonio warehouse in 14-16 weeks, The exact delivery date will depend on size of the order. Our tiles can be shipped anywhere in the world. We will work with our customers to get the most competitive shipping rates. Smaller orders usually ship UPS or FedEx Ground. Larger orders ship via common carrier. Shipping rates can vary depending on your region and are calculated at checkout.

Our tiles are delivered by truck on pallets. The tiles are packed in boxes. The boxes are stacked and strapped on pallets. Each box of tile weights on average 38 lbs., each full pallet weights on average 1700 lbs. and holds a maximum of 256 square feet of tile.

The Desire Group does not store customers’ tile orders. When an order is ready for delivery, the customer is required to provide a delivery address within 7 days of the tile being ready for delivery.

If a customer fails to provide a delivery address within 7 days, a storage fee of $175 per month will be charged to the customer. This storage fee will be charged for up to 3 months.

After the expiration of the 3-month grace period, the order will be disposed of in any way The Desire Group deems appropriate. This disposal method is at the sole discretion of The Desire Group and no notice will be given to customer of the disposal. If customer fails to provide a delivery address, customer has abandoned the tiles and relinquished any right to ownership of the tiles.

By ordering tile from The Desire Group, the client agrees to all terms and conditions above.

 

Delivering to a business or local freight terminal is typically less expensive than delivering to a residence. Commercial addresses are determined by the freight company. Typically, commercial addresses are warehouses, loading docks or businesses with a forklift. Businesses operating out of a residence do not qualify as a commercial or business address.

If delivering to a residence, please check the appropriate box at checkout and extra charges will apply. A lift gate will be ordered.

Our shipping company is expected to call you to arrange your delivery time. If you need special delivery options (such as a lift gate, inside delivery, or handicapped assistance), please notify the freight company and they will arrange these services. All residential deliveries will include a lift gate. The cost for additional shipping services is not included in the base cost but will be "add on" line items in your billing. You will incur additional charges if you contract for these services.  The Desire Group will not be responsible for any additional fees. These fees will be the responsibility of the customer. Any re-delivery fees will also be the customer’s responsibility.

All orders are delivered curbside. The driver will unload the delivery off the truck, but you will be responsible for getting your order from the curb to a safe, covered, inside location. The Desire Group products CANNOT BE STORED OUTSIDE. These products must be stored inside and under a cover protected from the elements, or they will be damaged.

Someone, over the age of 21, must be present to inspect the shipment at delivery. The customer representative will be required to tender a signature signifying the acceptance of the delivery.

Before the delivery is accepted, you MUST PERFORM a visible inspection. This inspection must include:

  1. Confirm the correct quantity of tile was delivered.
  2. Confirm the correct products were delivered.
  3. If there is any visible damage to the shipment, write this notation directly on the bill of lading which comes with the shipment. If, after inspection, there are any concerns with quantity of tiles shipped, or type of tile shipped, this also must be noted on the driver’s Bill of Lading. Do not let the driver leave without making a notation on the driver's documentation.
  4. If possible, take a picture of the driver’s documentation with your phone after you have made your notations on his documentation.
  5. DO NOT REFUSE the delivery.  Accept the shipment even if something appears to be unsatisfactory. When a shipment is refused the material is shipped back to the freight carrier's warehouse and additional charges are incurred which will be billed to you.
  6. Call Desire at 210.798.2288. We are here to help you handle the rest of the claim. 

If, after inspection, the quantity of the product is wrong or damage to the shipment is observed, this MUST BE NOTED on the driver’s Bill of Lading. Do not let the driver leave without making a notation on the driver's documentation. If you are able, take a picture of the driver’s documentation with your phone, do so.

DO NOT REFUSE the delivery.  Accept the tile shipment even if something appears to be unsatisfactory.

When a shipment is refused the material is shipped back to the freight carrier's warehouse and additional charges are incurred which will be billed to you. Call us at 210.798.2288. We are here to help you handle the rest of the claim. 

Damage due to shipping is rare but does happen. If damage to the shipment is discovered when unpacking the shipment, a delivery exception (a claim against the freight carrier for damage in shipping) must be made.

This claim must be made within 3 days. Please call us immediately at 210.798.2288 so we can help you fill out the claim paperwork and document it properly.  In the interim, please take pictures of the damaged freight and email them to us at orders@thedesiregroup.com.  Note, PER ABOVE, if damage is visible, for example crushed boxes, and not noted on the driver's paperwork we will be unable to file a claim!  


Warranties

Desire Tile will warrant from the original date of installation material that fails due to any manufacturing defect when fabricated and installed by a Desire Tile Certified Fabricator. This warranty applies to the repair or replacement of failed material that has been permanently installed in your residence. The option to repair or replace the material is at the sole discretion of Desire Tile

This Residential Lifetime Warranty is available only to the original owner of a single-family residence in which Desire Tile has been originally installed. In the case of a newly constructed single-family residence, this warranty is available to the “first” owner purchasing the residence with Desire Tile permanently installed and is transferable according to the terms and conditions stated below.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

  1. This  lifetime warranty applies to product installed after August 1, 2020. 
  2. This warranty applies only to Desire Tile and does not apply to any other products supplied by any other party, except Desire Tile. 
  3. This warranty applies only to Desire Tile tile that has been permanently installed in the interior of single-family residences and have not been moved from their original installation. If after or during installation you decide that you do not like the color or finish you selected, that decision is not covered under this warranty. 
  4. This warranty does not cover any residence where the owner is not the occupant. 
  5. This warranty does not cover materials and/or services that have not been paid in full, timely, within the payment terms agreed between the parties. 
  6. This warranty applies only to materials that have been maintained according to the Desire Tile Care & Maintenance guidelines. Care & Maintenance guidelines are available at www.desiretile.com.
  7. To request service under this warranty call (210) 798-2288 within thirty (30) days of discovery of the alleged failure of Desire Tile.
  8. Following installation, to be eligible for the lifetime residential warranty, you must register your product within thirty (30) days in order to activate this warranty. Simply complete the online form made available at: http://www.desiretile.com/customer-service/warranty/registration. In the event that no record of your warranty is on file, you must provide proof of purchase in the form of a copy of your original receipt or invoice showing the name of the Owner, Authorized Dealer and Desire Tile Certified Fabricator. Upon receipt of your original receipt or invoice showing the name of the Owner, Authorized Dealer and Desire Tile Certified Fabricator, Desire Cement will fully honor this warranty even though no warranty is on file. You must agree to cooperate with Desire Tile’s authorized agents in the inspection of the product and assist us in efforts to perform our obligations under this warranty.
  9. This warranty is transferable under the following conditions: The original or first owner must have initially registered the warranty with Desire Tile as specified in item F. The original or first owner must submit to Desire Tile in writing the name, address and phone number of the new owner. The new owner will receive a prorated 10-year limited warranty, which is prorated from the original date of installation. In no event will the transferred warranty exceed ten (10) years from the date of the original installation.
  10. In the event that Desire Tile tile fails due to a manufacturing defect, Desire Tile will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace such materials. Desire Tile will seek to obtain the best possible result, whether we decide to repair or replace your installation. However, an exact color match is never guaranteed. All decisions regarding this warranty are at the sole discretion of Desire Tile.  No representative, dealer, salesperson, distributor, fabricator or any other person is authorized to make any warranty or promises on behalf of Desire Tile. with respect to Desire Tile products.

EXCLUSIONS:

  1. This warranty does not cover use for any commercial purposes. Commercial use includes but is not limited to, use in a store, rental properties, office or any other place of business. 
  2. This warranty does not cover products installed in any outdoor application. 
  3. This warranty does not cover improper use or abuse. Improper use or abuse includes, but is not limited to, damage from mishandling of the product, failure to promptly seal product, damage from excessive heat or exposure to weather conditions, improper storage, outdoor storage prior to installation, exposure to water or outdoor elements  prior to installation or sealing, physical or chemical abuse, and damage from improper care and maintenance. 
  4. This warranty does not cover chips or other excessive impact damage to the product. 
  5. This warranty does not cover scratches. Desire Cement is a hard material and scratch resistance but not scratch proof. Proper care must be exercised to protect the surface.
  6. This warranty does not cover routine maintenance. Routine maintenance includes but is not limited to, minor conditions such as removing stains and water spots by following the techniques specified in the Desire Tile Care & Maintenance Guidelines at www.desiretile.com
  7. This warranty does not cover failures due to fabricators/installers not following the prescribed fabrication and installation procedures as outlined by Desire Cement. Improper fabrication and/or installation is the sole responsibility of the fabricator and/or installer. 
  8. This warranty does not cover any defects that were visible at the time of installation and were not avoided or reported before installation. Installers are required to perform a visual inspection of all materials prior to installation and report defects to Desire Tile within 24 hours. Failure to timely report visible defects voids this warranty, if warranty was applicable. 
  9. This warranty does not cover grout appearance, grout staining or grout performance, adhesives, caulk or other accessory items or underlayment. 
  10. This warranty does not cover any chemical damage or sealant performance. 
  11. This warranty does not cover any creative use of the material including bending or curving non-traditional cutting. 
  12. This warranty does not cover material that has been milled or reduced in thickness after receipt from factory. 
  13. This warranty does not cover the installation of sinks. 
  14. This warranty does not cover securing mechanical fasteners directly into the material. 
  15. This warranty does not cover any failures due to inadequate support for the installation. 
  16. This warranty does not cover any chips or cracks or rough edges  that are a result of “dry” cutting or polishing. or the use of improper blade. 
  17. This warranty does not  cover installation in wet areas.  Please follow guidelines for installation in wet areas at www.dersiretile.com
  18. This warranty does not cover temporary marks such as fingerprints, masking tape or pencil marks resulting from improper installation techniques or other signs of daily living.
  19. This warranty does not cover additional modifications such as plumbing, electrical, tile, cabinets, flooring, etc. that may be necessary to repair or replace the Desire Tile covered under this warranty. 
  20. This warranty does not cover natural variations in the tile surface color or aggregate size or distribution in the tile.  These characteristics are inherent and unique characteristics of this handmade product. Color samples provided to consumers, dealers and fabricators are only representative and not an exact replication of what will be installed in your home. 
  21. Desire Tile  is not responsible for damage or injury caused in whole or in part by acts of God, job site conditions, and architectural/engineering design, and structural movement, acts of vandalism or accidents. Desire Cement  shall not be responsible in either contract or tort for any loss of direct, indirect, consequential, incidental, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of the use or the inability to use the products covered by this warranty. Some states do not allow exclusion or limitation of incidental damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. 

THE FOREGOING IS THE COMPLETE RESIDENTIAL WARRANTY FOR DESIRE TILE AND SUPERSEDES ALL OTHER WARRANTIES AND REPRESENTATIONS, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN. EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY SET FORTH ABOVE, NO OTHER WARRANTIES ARE MADE WITH RESPECT TO DESIRE TILE AND EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL DESIRE TILE NOT STATED HEREIN, INCLUDING, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ANY WARRANTY THAT MAY EXIST UNDER NATIONAL, STATE, PROVINCIAL OR LOCAL LAW INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. SOME STATES OR OTHER JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. 

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from State to RESIDENTIAL WARRANTY

Desire Tiles sole responsibility and liability under this warranty shall be to repair or to replace at Desire Tile's sole option if the tiles are shown to be defective during the warranty period. Desire Tile shall have no liability for any loss, expense or damage, as a result of the installation of the material. Under no circumstances shall Desire Tile. be liable for indirect, punitive, consequential, special or any other similar damages, including but not limited to, loss of profits, business interruption or any other loss.

  1. This lifetime limited warranty applies only to Desire Tile tiles installed in commercial installations after August 1, 2020. 
  2. This warranty applies only to Desire Tile tiles.  This warranty does not apply to any other products supplied by any other party, except Desire Tile. 
  3. This warranty does not apply to unoccupied structures. 
  4. This warranty does not cover materials and/or services that have not been paid in full. 
  5. This warranty only applies to materials that have been maintained according to Desire Tile Warranty and Care & Maintenance guidelines. Care & Maintenance guidelines are available at www.desirecement.com 
  6. Following installation, you must register your product within thirty (15) days in order to activate your warranty. Complete the online warranty registration form at http://www.desireflooring.comservice/warranty/registration. In the event that no record of your warranty is on file, you must provide proof of purchase in the form of your original receipt or invoice showing the name of the Owner and Certified Desire Tile Installation. Upon receipt of this original documentation Desire Tile  will fully honor this warranty. You must agree to cooperate with Desire Tile or its authorized agents in the inspection of the product and assist us in efforts to perform our obligations under this warranty. 
  7. To request service under this warranty you must contact Desire Tile  promptly, within 15 days,  after discovery of the alleged defect to be eligible for warranty coverage. Contact by phone at 210.798.2288.
  8. Laws and building safety regulations governing the design, engineering and construction of installations vary widely.  Desire Tile  assumes no responsibility or obligations with respect to the selection of product for the installation or the design, engineering and construction of the installation. 
  9. Commercial property shall consist of any location open to the general public for business use, private properties subject to residential or commercial rental or lease, or properties designated as hotels, motels or other temporary residence applications. Commercial properties specifically include properties offered for short term leases on internet sites such as VRBO.com and other similar sites. 
  10. This commercial warranty is not transferable. This warranty is issued to the original owner of the structure in which Desire Tile products were installed and expires upon transfer of the ownership of the structure to a third party.
  11. To request service under this warranty you must contact Desire Tile  promptly, within 15 days,  after discovery of the alleged defect to be eligible for warranty coverage. Contact by phone at 210.798.2288.
  12. Laws and building safety regulations governing the design, engineering and construction of installations vary widely.  Desire Tile  assumes no responsibility or obligations with respect to the selection of product for the installation or the design, engineering and construction of the installation. 

EXCLUSIONS:

  1. This warranty does not cover routine maintenance. Routine maintenance includes but is not limited to, minor conditions such as removing stains and water spots by following the techniques specified in the Desire Tile online Care & Maintenance Guidelines at www.desiretile.com
  2. This warranty does not cover Desire Tile  products used in outdoor applications. 
  3. This warranty does not cover Desire Tile products used in wet applications. Please review installation protocols for installation in wet applications. 
  4. This warranty does not cover improper use or abuse. Improper use or abuse includes, but is not limited to, damage from mishandling of the product, failure to promptly seal product, damage from excessive heat or exposure to weather conditions, improper storage, outdoor storage prior to installation, exposure to water or outdoor elements prior to installation or sealing, physical or chemical abuse, and damage from improper care and maintenance. 
  5. This warranty does not cover failures due to installers failing to follow the prescribed installation procedures as outlined by Desire Tile. Improper installation is the sole responsibility of the contractor/installer.
  6. This warranty does not cover chips or other excessive impact damage to the product. 
  7. This warranty does not cover scratches. Desire Tile is a hard material and scratch resistance but not scratch proof. Proper care must be exercised to protect the surface. .
  8. This warranty does not cover products installed with a known or visible manufacturing defect at the time of installation, including, but not limited to surface color variance or aggregate variance which is inherent in this handmade product. 
  9. This warranty does not cover routine maintenance.  
  10. This warranty does not cover any creative use of the product including improper cuts.
  11. This warranty does not cover products that have been milled or otherwise reduced in thickness.
  12. This warranty does not cover the installation of sinks, other plumbing fixtures or appliances into the product. 
  13. This warranty does not cover mitered edges. 
  14. This warranty does not cover variations in color, size, shape or distribution of the aggregate in terrazzo tile. These characteristics are inherent and unique characteristics of this handmade product. Color samples provided to architects, designers, dealers, consumers and fabricators are only representative and not an exact replication of what will be supplied.
  15. Desire Tile shall not be liable for any additional work such as plumbing, electrical, tile, cabinets, flooring, etc. that may need to be done as a result for a repair or replacement of defective Desire Tile tiles covered under this warranty. 
  16. This warranty does not cover damages caused by work such as plumbing, electrical, tile, cabinets, flooring, etc. 
  17. This warranty does not cover products that have been moved from its original installation location. 
  18. Desire Tile is not responsible for damage or injury caused in whole or in part by acts of God, job site conditions, architectural/engineering design, structural movement, accidents or acts of vandalism. 
  19. Desire Tile shall not be responsible either in contract or tort for any loss of direct, indirect, consequential, incidental, special, exemplary or punitive damages arising out of the use or the inability to use the products covered by this warranty. Some states do not allow exclusion or limitation of incidental damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. 

THE FOREGOING IS THE COMPLETE COMMERCIAL WARRANTY FOR Desire Tile PRODUCTS AND SUPERSEDES ALL OTHER WARRANTIES AND REPRESENTATIONS, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY SET FORTH ABOVE. NO OTHER WARRANTIES ARE MADE WITH RESPECT TO DESIRE CEMENT. 

Desire Tile EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES NOT STATED HEREIN, INCLUDING, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW ANY WARRANTY THAT MAY EXIST UNDER NATIONAL, STATE, OR LOCAL LAW INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. SOME STATES OR OTHER JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. 

THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS AND YOU MAY HAVE OTHER RIGHTS WHICH IN YOUR STATE.

Returns & Refunds

The Desire Group accepts returns on all in stock tile orders within 30 days of purchase.  To return an order, the customer must pay a 25% restocking fee and pay shipping cost to return the order to our San Antonio, Texas warehouse. To return your order please obtain a return authorization by calling 210.798.2288.

After the restocking fee is deducted, and the tiles are received in Desire's San Antonio warehouse undamaged, the balance will be refunded to the customer within 15 days.

Custom orders (Couture and Bespoke Tile) cannot be cancelled. Shade variations are part of the inherent beauty of our custom tiles, and we do not warranty against these shade variations. We encourage viewing samples prior to ordering. Although best effort is made to ensure product images are as close as possible to the actual product, variations in shade, color or appearance are possible. Computer monitor display settings can also play a role in the representation of a digital picture. Any material signed for by the customer is considered accepted.
