As a child, every week our founder, KIRSTEN CARABIN, sat with her mother and watched the renowned program STYLE with Elsa Klensch. She was captivated by the runway shows that unfolded before her. Inspired by the vibrant colors, sparkling beading, flowing fabrics, and innovative designs, she embarked on a journey to infuse the spirit of runway fashion into the sophisticated elegance of terrazzo tile.
Desire's signature gemstone terrazzo is available to order in any shape or size.
The customary thickness for cement and terrazzo tile is .63" (1.6 cm). Any shape 8 x 8" or smaller can be ordered for vertical surfaces in thickness of .55" (1.4 cm) or .39" (1.2 cm). Desire recommends thinner tile be used on vertical surfaces only.
Our signature handmade gemstone terrazzo can be used in conjunction with any of our patterns or can be combined with solid cement for a unique look.
Desire recommends non-pigmented, flexible unsanded grout. For patterns Desire recommended joint width of 1/16th.
Your tile can be picked up by your contractor at either of our two San Antonio, Texas warehouse locations or we will make shipping arrangements direct to you. We can and do, ship tile everywhere in the world.

Our gemstone terrazzo tile features a luxurious pure South Sea pearl inlay that adds a touch of understated sophistication. Imagine the cool, smooth surface of the tile underfoot, while the gentle shimmer of the iridescent pearl catches the light. Surfaces adorned with precious gems bring even the most luxurious rooms to life.
The South Sea mother-of-pearl used in the hand-made tile is remnants which remain after the pearl button, used on all fine garments, is punched from the shell. Each pearl piece is shaped by hand before it is placed into the tile.
BLOOM, AWAKENING & possibilities
Create a unique installation by combing original patterns BLOOM AWAKENING and POSSIBILTIES. BLOOM can be rotated 360 degrees so the flowers can be in bunches or scattered carefree throughout your installation. The scrolling AWAKENING can also be rotated 360 degrees and can be used as filler! POSSIBILITES can be used as a border or a design.
